Dates and Venue 12 - 30 November 2013, 8pm (2pm matinee on Nov 30) | Studio 1398, 1398 Cartwright St., Granville Island Reviewer Ed Farolan Edmonton playwright Stewart Lemoine's play about a perfect hostess, whose perfect party goes terribly awry, gives a fresh outlook on what comedy is all about. All the actors, especially Pam (Maryanne Renzetti) were so hilarious that the audience couldn't help but laugh all throughout this 75-minute cocktail party. All 11 actors-- Anousha Alamian, Sebastien Archibald, Yoshie Bancroft, Georgia Beaty, Daniel Deorksen, Brent Hirose, Stefania Indelicato, Shauna Johannesen, Liz Kirkland, Maryanne Renzetti, and Joanna Williams -- were superb in the delivery of lines, in their physicality, and portrayal of their roles. Double kudos to the director, Stephen Heatley, for giving us the audience a helluva good time. This is what we need especially at this time of year when people start getting depressed with the long nights and short days. We need to laugh and get rid of our doldrums. I hope to see more of Staircase Collective Equity shows in the near future, especially with these actors, because they're just fabulous and make us see why they are professional artists. © 2013 Ed Farolan
