How many of us have read, let alone heard, these two long narrative poems by Shakespeare? Those who missed last week's two readings of these epics missed a rare treat. Beautifully read and acted by some of Vancouver's best known performers, with stylized movement by two dancers, these little known poems came to life, enthralling the audiences

The original concept for this production was by the late John Juliani, whose son Alessandro, is the present artistic director of the company. He bravely and very successfully took over the direction of this presentation.

Listening to well-read poetry is something that today's  audiences are largely deprived of.  Those of us who enjoy this almost non-existent experience should make a note of the fact that the Savage God, Shakespeare Project will be reading Shakespeare's sonnets in February, in St. Paul's Anglican Church.

Sonnets 1 will be on Friday February 13 and Sonnets 2 will be on Saturday February 14, 2004.  Don't miss a romantic weekend with some of the world's most beautiful love poems.
