This is one of many modern Cinderella stories, particularly like the JLo films, where poor girl goes from rags to riches.Violet (Elle Fanning) is a shy teenager who dreams of escaping her small town and pursuing her passion to sing. She enters a local singing competition that will test her integrity, talent and ambition.

Young teenagers will go for this film because it does deal with highschoolers, and although older adults will appreciate the theme primarily for being young at heart, it´s the kind of movie where you feel good after watching it.
